Someone told me there's a Girl out there, with Love in her eyes && Flowers in her hair

Hasta freakin Luego, Tuscaloosa!

my freshman year at the University of Alabama is coming to a close & i could not be happier. Now, please do not think i do not love 'Bama, because i do. probably more than you ever could imagine. however; i am DONE. i've kicked ass in my classes all semester and have very little to show for it (while my friends earn the same or better grades than i do and spent the majority of the semester hung-over with me by their side).
I've gotten a small taste of the summertime so far and i cannot resist. Granted, i will be working every single day over the summer and will most likely not be able to enjoy myself as i should. Luckily, the sunshine automatically makes me happy, so that is convenient.
A few friends of mine (actually, people i was kinda-sorta friends with in high school but best friends with now who don't go to college with me) and i have decided we are taking a trip this summer to California. If you know nothing about me then you would not know that i intend to move and live there within the next couple years of my life. You're not invited, i am so very sorry. But Cali's been more on my mind than usual this past semester and even more these past couple of weeks....

One thing that is very hard about leaving Tuscaloosa is saying goodbye to Bucket. Liz is the roommate of my good friend Kellie and has truly become one my best friends and is the best person i have ever known. It is going to be very weird without her sleeping in my room, staying up and watching cold case till five and being nerds together. We have gotten into one fight, had no idea what it was about and were back to being best friends the next day without a second guess. She left for home in Little Rock, Arkansas today and i am quite sad. Luckily(?), we are both living in our sorority houses next year (Alpha Phi for me and Zeta for her) which pretty much back up to one another. Meaning? we'll be in the back yard at all times.
She's coming to visit me (and her lame/famous boyfriend, Michael Strickland) often, is invited to California and (should be) expecting me to show up unannounced any time after June 17th. I've met a ton of people this year, but the one who will NOT be soon forgotten is good ole Bucket.
besides, we've got the bond of good music.

I'm feeling Rough, I'm feeling Raw in the Prime of my Life.

Gotta Let Your Soul Shine

I LOVE eBay. Awesome chucks for $20. Practically brand new && currently on my feet.

Despite my "hippie-ness" i have many "classic southern preppy girl" qualities. One of those would be that I am in a sorority, Alpha Phi.

&& this Thursday is an exciting day because my sister && momma are coming to TTown for Alpha Phi Initiation! Not only am I getting initiated but so are the Kathy & Cami, as alumni initiates!
Just to explain Alpha Phi a little bit... The Beta Mu chapter was at Alabama years ago but in the 60s'/70s' many greek organizations were shut down due to lack of interest, including Beta Mu at Bama. But in 2008, Alpha Phi, Beta Mu chapter, reopened & here I am!

one of my best friends, Kellie, is my Big Sis & an Alpha Phi, but she is not coming back to Bama next year. :( Something that is really cool? She plans to graduate from Georgia Tech who also installed their first Alpha Phi chapter this year! So she will be a Bama & Georgia Phi! :)

I Want The World, Nothing Less

I LOVE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL. && people can judge me all they want because it's not a "real musical". well, i think those people take themselves too seriously && don't know how to have fun. i do.
HSM 3: Senior Year came out on DVD today. Kellie && I bought it, watched it, watched the extras and I pretty much cried during the entire film. No Shame.

I'm the girl who is not into romantic movies, dating or anything associated with such. But something I love is seeing friends being together. Friends are the most important thing in my life && when I the way I feel, it is just fantastic.

Friends Are The Family You Choose.

I don't own the clothes I'm wearing && the road goes on forever..

At 5:49 in the morning, the birds are chirping, The Office is on && i am "blogging". Life is good. Now usually when people blog, they have important, controversial topics to discuss. I can sit here and talk about war, vegetarianism, President Obama, yada, yada, yada.... But that is not happening tonight/ this morning.
I have actually been spending the past few hours researching Eating Disorders for an essay I am writing. The things I have come to learn are truly shocking && epidemic. I now know that girls even younger than third grade are concerned && trying to lose weight. Anorexia && Bulimia are not the only serious eating disorders, although extremely serious. But dysfunctional eating is a very common trend nowadays & honestly, I am definitely a part of that. Often times, like myself, it is not an intentional habit but can be extremely harmful. The combination of media influences, personal influences and psychological disease are the main causes of eating disorders today.
Honestly, it truly breaks my heart to read some of the stories in these books. I hope that the people in my life do not fall victim or relapse into these diseases. It's truly terrifying.

That was my seriousness of the blog. I'm going back to watch the Office, color, read, etc. Don't forget, LiFE iS GOOD!

Tryin to Make a Livin && Doing the Best That I Can

So, my best friend since i was 8 && roommate since... August, Ellen, got a blog ( check it out, it's good)  in order to respond to someone's (unintelligent) blog. I got a blog so I could follow hers. I just really like (to stalk) Ellen.

Honestly, there is nothing excruciatingly exciting happening in my life currently- which is actually so untrue. I'm just so used to all this amazing-ness in my life that it doesn't even faze me. God, i am spoiled!

School is fantastic. I have made many right decisions before, but coming to the U of Alabama was truly the best decision of my life. I love my classes, my friends, my sorority, Alpha Phi. I love this town, it's traditions, it's football! My parents work extremely hard for me to be here and for that, I am extremely grateful. The most important goal in my life is to become rich so I can one day pay my parents back the thousands of dollars they have sacrificed for me. And to buy my sister, Cami, a Range Rover.

The only hard part about living here is not seeing certain people. There is this girl, and literally, the day I was born, June 13th of 1990, was they day I met her. There is this dude, I've known him since I was a youngin', he left, he came back, and I spent the majority of high school in his car complaining about life. There is this kid, I met him a little over two & a half years ago & he is the most important person in the entire world. These people are Anna Campbell (in Auburn), Drew Kirkland (also in Auburn) & Brody Austin Smith (my nephew, in Kennesaw with his amazing parents).

Well, I was not kidding when I said I really had no reason to start this, but I figured I would. Maybe no one will read it and it can be a real secret journal.
Maybe not...

Until Next Time,

Peace, Love && Rock
